best of luck on your surgery Sergiu. I pray that you come out of it uneventful and that it's the one that finally subdues this constant battleBianca

I had a third polyp surgery 15 years ago and they haven't been back since! I was one of the "lucky" ones who developed Churg Strauss with the Samters. The treatment for the CSS seems to have helped everything, including the Samters. After having severe Samters since 1974 (that's 37 years!), I have been oral steroid free for 4 years. Singulair and Advair keep everything under control, with the rescue inhaler occassionally for the pre-cough Symptoms. I still avoid aspirin but eat just about everything I want (steroid induced diabetes is even under control)All this just to say that sometimes Samters does get better, or at least under better control. It never goes away.Billie Ford msbfford@... ""Real power is the ability to pause between stimulus and response, and in that pause, choose." Rollo May

Hello

I have put just a few posts on the site here, i am a uk sufferer have not looked for or been offered desensification treatment. I have had only one polyp op have had no sos since (3+ years now) but things are naturally better for me now.

This is such a weird condition as its so different person to person. I began symptoms at the start of the menopause (immune system perhaps taking the brunt of changes within me) but when I recall my late father had 'sinus' problems and i think now maybe undiagnosed related to our problems.

I was at the time mentioned starting menopause and coincidentally starting a relationship with a person who liked a glass or two (or three) of wine - and needing little persuasion I took to this as well. My symptoms seemed to spiral out of control from there really I had huge polyps develop, had asthma which I was hospitalised for and was plastered with hives for almost 12 months. I really suffered for over 2 years and was tired and exhaustion. The relationship had long died and good really but i was left floundering ...

I did elimination diet and gave in to the tiredness, took my Accolate and Nasonex and still do and my Singulair and I have gradually come back to life.

I have underlying Bronchial problems too so cough up mucus from my lungs a lot but my asthma and hives are so much better that I feel almost normal -,something I thought I never would.

This is an immune problem so I suppose what i am saying (I have never grasped the detailed medical stuff around it) is that it can change - dont give up what came upon us can lift and and any relief can seem like a miracle. I have no sos and I am a bit deaf due to the mucus in my head but compared to where i have been with all this life is great., #good luck everyone. #
