Guest guest
Hi Hugo and welcome to the group. You sound as though you have much of this under control from what you're doing. I too found that the 'spacers' improved my intake of asthma medications much better, one doctor in fact saying I was only getting about 60% benefit previously. Have you tried irrigation? That's a big help to some. I don't want to sound a pessimist here but I doubt hypnosis would work. I think that would only benefit you if the problem was 'in the mind' so to speak and Samters unfortunately isn't. I think we're all looking for that miracle cure that'll clear our nasal passages and return our sense of smell. As of yet there isn't one but I'm optimistic in thinking it's only a matter of time. Cheers hello - some help Dear all, Hello. My name is Hugo Rebbeck and i have just joined this group. I have been suffering from samter's triad for quite a while now. Probably about four or five years. I have had an operation on my nose to remove polyps about two years ago but i only got my smell back for a few weeks. I do not mind too much about not being able to smell, as by now i have kinda become accustomed to it, but it is the waking with feeling bunged up and grogy in the morning that annoys me, as i have had that for a while. I am fairly healthy these days - exercising and a better diet that has helped my conditions. This has resulted in me not feeling like i have a cold the whole time, a bit more energy, and better concentration, as these was what i had been lacking for the past few years. I now take my asthma inhalers everyday with an aero chamber to make sure i am doing it right, go running often, occasionly i take nasal sprays(flixonase or nasonex), and have just started to take omega 3 oils, which seems to be helping - 1000mg of cod liver oil tablets. In the last year i have made a real effort to conquer this problem and i seem to be getting results. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other ways of helping control samter's. My friend thinks that hypnosis could work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. yours Hugo Rebbeck
Guest guest
Huge, just one more thing I thought of after I sent the last email. Nasonex needs to be taken daily if you're to get the benefit from it. My ENT said two squirts either side every morning and when my sinus started getting worse to use it at night as well in lieu of prednisone. The Nasonex takes a few weeks to build up so don't give up on it. hello - some help Dear all, Hello. My name is Hugo Rebbeck and i have just joined this group.
