My doctor put me on Bactrim DS. It cleared the infection but I could not sleep and was irritable. From: joan harvey <thomyris7@...>samters Sent: Friday, August 19, 2011 6:43 PMSubject:

Side effects from floroquinalones

I have a sinus infection that tests resistant to almost all antibiotics except floroquinalones. I can't tolerate Levaquin at all, had to give up something called Factive after 4 days, and now have been put on Cipro. After several days I am completely weak and debilitated. Side effects do include peripheral neuropathy, which I guess can be irreversible. This is about the 7th or 8th antibiotic I've been put on, my symptoms aren't much better, and I'm feeling sort of desperate to get rid of the infection -- at the same time I don't want to permanently damage my health in other ways.

I was thinking I had a question about whether to stay on the Cipro longer, but in writing this I think I'm probably going to have to quit it. Any suggestions for other ways to get rid of an antibiotic resistant bacterial infection?

Thanks,

Joan

I also had issues with florquinolones. I was put on an antibiotic rinse that I used in my saline washes I used it for a long time maybe a month it seemed to work well and I had no side effects. I will request this from now on instead of oral antibiotics. It just makes sense.michelle From: samters [mailto:samters ] On Behalf Of joan harveySent: Friday, August 19, 2011 6:43 PMsamters Subject: Side effects from floroquinalones I have a sinus infection that tests resistant to almost all antibiotics except floroquinalones. Thanks -- this makes the most sense to me. My ENT hasn’t seem to want to go this route, but I may have to find someone who will.On Aug 20, 2011, at 1:19 PM, Drew & wrote:
