new to + irrigation

i just found out that i have samters and not the allergies for which i

have been treated for about 13 years with heavy doses of

antihistamines, antibiotics, etc. i've had three sinus surgeries and

the inside of my nose no longer resembles a normal nose in any way.

also, my sense of taste and smell have been gone for nearly five years.

what have results of desensitization been?

i read about flovent but get nosebleeds from almost all the nasal

sprays other than rhinocort and beconase.

with regard to irrigation, i use a product from healthwise

(letsgethealthwise.com) that includes a non-drugstore form of iodine

in a 6 qt tub of saline. this is anti-bacterial, anti-viral and

anti-fungal, plus it gets the irritants off of my face and out of nose

at the same time. very refreshing and effective.

before i go for desensitization, i'd like to hear some results.

is anyone taking azmanaze and/or zyflo?

I have great results from desensitization. My polyps stopped growing and

shrunk. My sense of smell returned after a few months. I feel much closer

to how I felt 10 years ago. My asthma will still get bad when I have a

cold, but most of the time it is under control.

The down side for some is stomach irritation or bleeding. I've never had

this problem, so I'm relatively safe, but I'm still careful to take enteric

coated tablets with food.

I have taken zyflo and it worked well despite no response to Singulair. It

is a hassle to take it every four hours.

How do you apply the healthwise product.
