Long-term side effects of aspirin use?

I have been on the list since 2002 though have been lurking mostly in recent

years.

I was desensitized at Scripps Green Hospital in the fall of 2002 by Drs. Simon

and son at the GCRC. I have been taking aspirin daily since them in doses

ranging from 1300mg down to 325mg. Currently I am taking 650mg in the morning.

I have started to develop tinnitus as well as arthritis in one foot. The

arthritis could be gout but I won't know without more tests. My reading seems to

indicate that tinnits and gout are correlated with aspirin use.

Has anyone else run into this? If so, did you stop taking aspirin or just reduce

your dose?

I'd be interested to hear what long-term users have run into in the way of side

effects.
