Guest guest
Hi Madele I´m from Denmark, and aspirin desensitivity treatment is not used in this country as far as I know. I have been following a low /medium salicylate diet during 16 years. This way I keep my other intolerance symtoms as headache, nausea, diarrhea and swollen joints away, but still I need to have polyp-surgeries every third or fourth year. Last year I noticed some reaction on foodstuff like chocolate, tea, tunafish, sausages etc and after some research I have concluded that I have also developed an amine intolerance. I have started a diet both low on amines and salycilates - and suddenly my polyps are less aggressive than they used to be!. I had an operation 1 year ago and this time there hasen´t been much regrowth of polyps and on good days I still have some sense of smell. The largest problem with the diet is social events and gatherings where I often need to bring my own food. Also visits on restaurants are very rare. But still, if I follow the diet I have no symptoms of intolerance (except the occasionally loss of smell). Best wishes Liselotte > > hello , > i was wondering if anyone was following a low salicylate diet to help cut down on the nasal symptoms of samters?as i stay in scotland there's no where that i have heard of offering aspirin de-sensitivity treatment and im not convinced as to how safe and effective it is in long run.that's why i have been researching the last two years into a more nutritional and supplement approach to cut down on the inflammation in my sinuses that then causes the polyp growth to prevent surgeries in future if i can. >
