I had chicken pox as a child. When my 2 got it this year, I came out in 3 spots. I wasn't ill, but to me it looked like being exposed to this illness just topped up my immunity.

If you are a member of the A.R.E., may I suggest you do a search of the readings on this condition in the member's section of their website athttp://www.edgarcayce.orgIf you are not an A.R.E. member, you can purchase a full set of the readings on CD-ROM athttp://tinyurl.com/ec-readings-on-cd-romYou can also call the A.R.E. at1-800-333-4499and ask to purchase a copy of the Circulating File on this condition, if available.I would also suggest taking colloidal silver (a tablespoonful every two hours, swished around in your mouth a few minutes before swallowing). It is a natural non-toxic antimicrobial. For more information, visithttp://tinyurl.com/colloidal-minerals

This is a very rushed response as I'm leaving for an appointment, and not specific to whooping cough, but there is an article about the natural treatment of respiratory tract infections on my website that may be helpful: http://www.simonegabbay.com/natural_cough_remedies.htm

Also, in addition to the excellent suggestions made by Dr. Delany, I would recommend taking Echinacea tincture and oil of oregano drops to help heal the infection.

I would make sure his diet is really good, that he gets a lot of fluids and sufficient rest. Stock up on meds like homeopathics, Vit. C, Larix, quercetin, etc. We also had good luck with a homeopathic cough syrup called Children's Bronchial and Cough syrup by Boericke & Tafel. Oh, and have a vaporizer on hand, too.

I put tee tree oil in the aromatherapy thing a ma gig to diffuse it into the air.We had warm moist fluids, broths and tea. This page had some good natural suggestions, :http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/pertussis-000128.htm From: Bun <alohabun@...> Vaccinations Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2012 8:30 PM Subject: Whooping Cough

Has anyone had any success with helping kids be more comfortable as they get through the coughing from whooping cough? Vitamin C is supposed to fight the actual bacteria. We've also been doing some things suggested in Smart Medicine for A Healthier Child, but only what the kids are willing to take. Laurie

Wanted to update....spoke to dr office again and answered their questions. They

asked if the state could call me directly to answer a couple of questions I had

and I said yes. The person from the state called and she told me since we had

been coughing for over 21 days, could continue to go to school and we

weren't contagious.

Laurie (and Makana still doing good, only about 3 times coughing since she woke

up).

Not having been through this Laurie, I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say how awful to have to worry about the state when you're already dealing with sick kids. Hang in there....

I think if she can control the cough, it's okay--probably a natural instinct to protect yourself from the painful coughing. I agree, if she really had to she wouldn't be able to hold it back.

I don't know about the congestion moving from head to the lungs but I'm assuming it's already in the lungs if she's coughing. I also worry about pneumonia and my son who had pertussis also has a history of pneumonia. He did NOT get it with the pertussis, so it's certainly not a given.

What did you tell the state about the antibiotics? How did they leave it? Will they be calling back? I don't like to lie, but you can bet I would have told them we were taking them to get them off my back.

I told the drs office when they asked that she was doing other things and not

taking the antibiotic. When the state person called me, she never asked about

whether or not we were taking an antibiotic. So I didn't bring it up. I think

the state was satisfied that we were coughing for more than 21 days and were

therefore not contagious. That seemed to be the big thing she brought up and

felt relieved about. I was just glad that she (the state) wasn't demanding we

follow any specific protocol as what we're doing is working well. Without

antibiotics and like people have written and from what I've read in many places

now, they may only help at the very very beginning, probably before you even

know you have whooping cough. Laurie

The baby has it also? Yes definitely the ONE remedy that fits

Mom to up Vitamin C - sodium ascorbate form and her D3

Do you have the remedy possibilities and the administration

info?

Where does she live? Really helps to have a good homeopath

More questions on whooping cough:

A friend of mine has a not quite 3 month old (guessing around 10-12

weeks old) and a 4 year old with whooping cough (the 4 year old was

vaxxed for it). I forwarded her the recent emails about whooping

cough, but wanted to ask what recommendations there would be for the

baby. She is exclusively breastfeeding him.

Would you recommend the homeopathic remedies for the infant

also?

Thanks much!

My favorite and most helpful resource so far has been this:

http://www.vaccinationcouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/The-Vitamin-C-Treat\

ment-of-Whooping-Cough-10.pdf

We kept upgrading our Sodium Ascorbate from the " Ester C " to the " NOW " brand to

finally a pure, non-gmo product... " NurtiBiotic " brand. Here is a link to amazon

where I purchased

it:http://www.amazon.com/Sodium-Ascorbate-Powder-2-2-lbs/dp/B000I4DOVU

And another product we bought is lypo-spheric vitamin C:

http://www.amazon.com/Lypo-Spheric-Vitamin-Box-30-packets/dp/B000CD9XGC

And Suzanne Humphries (the dr who wrote that paper on vit c and whooping cough

in the above link) suggested taking Vitamin D - we used Carlson brand, Vitamin

D3, 2000IU, 360 soft gels. The gels can be pricked with a pin and popped into

your mouth and chewed enough to get out the oils (which taste fine to us..even

my kids are okay with them). Then you spit out the gelatin capsule (at least

that is what we do. Or you can simply swallow the capsule or put the oil on

something you're eating.

Our daughter (six years and almost 60 pounds) is doing about 10,000 mg of

vitamin c (about 2,000mg of lypo-spheric vitamin c and 8,000mg of sodium

ascorbate form of vitamin c) daily, some days a little less, a couple days a

little more. She's taking five capsules of the D3 for now, and I'll reduce that

to three capsules tomorrow or the next day.

My friend sent this to me: Thank you so much for this . I am definitely going to get the Vit C tomorrow. I don't know which remedy to use, but I'm going to try and figure it out. The baby, Ethan has taken 2 days of antibiotics. I want to stop giving it to him, but hubs doesn't. Do you think stopping after 2 days is best or should we finish out the course? I see no reason to continue, other than it supposedly decreasing how contagious he is, if that's even true. I'm thinking the antibiotics alter the homeopathy. I'm going to look again at the administration and remedy info. Thanks again. :) Do you have any input/recommendations from her above questions? Thanks! I just got this response too: Thank you for trying to help. I have read every bit of it and am making some sense of the info. I think the best remedy to try would be the Drosera, I'm just not exactly sure how or how much to administer since I am not familiar with the measurements and such. If the Vit C atleast helps the symptoms significantly, and the coughing is manageable, that would be fantastic. Right now it's pretty bad. Our 4 year old is on the up and up but the baby is right int he thick of it and it's super scary. Again, thanks ahead for any input to send to her. vaccinations From: nbriski@...Date: Wed, 9 May 2012 21:35:41 -0600Subject: RE: Re: whooping cough

just stop - there is no proof antibiotics do absolutely anything - but it

will destroy the gut flora which is part of his immune system. He

needs probiotics now.

tomorrow. I don't know which remedy to use, but I'm going to try and

figure it out. The baby, Ethan has taken 2 days of antibiotics. I want to

stop giving it to him, but hubs doesn't. Do you think stopping after 2

days is best or should we finish out the course? I see no reason to

continue, other than it supposedly decreasing how contagious he is, if

that's even true. I'm thinking the antibiotics alter the homeopathy.

I'm going to look again at the administration and remedy info. Thanks

again. :)

Do you have any input/recommendations from her above questions?

Thanks!

My favorite and most helpful resource so far has been this:

http://www.vaccinationcouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/The-Vitamin-C-Treatment-of-Whooping-Cough-10.pdf

We kept upgrading our Sodium Ascorbate from the " Ester C " to

the " NOW " brand to finally a pure, non-gmo

product... " NurtiBiotic " brand. Here is a link to amazon where I

purchased

it:

http://www.amazon.com/Sodium-Ascorbate-Powder-2-2-lbs/dp/B000I4DOVU

And another product we bought is lypo-spheric vitamin C:

http://www.amazon.com/Lypo-Spheric-Vitamin-Box-30-packets/dp/B000CD9XGC

And Suzanne Humphries (the dr who wrote that paper on vit c and whooping

cough in the above link) suggested taking Vitamin D - we used Carlson

brand, Vitamin D3, 2000IU, 360 soft gels. The gels can be pricked with a

pin and popped into your mouth and chewed enough to get out the oils

(which taste fine to us..even my kids are okay with them). Then you spit

out the gelatin capsule (at least that is what we do. Or you can simply

swallow the capsule or put the oil on something you're eating.

Our daughter (six years and almost 60 pounds) is doing about 10,000 mg of

vitamin c (about 2,000mg of lypo-spheric vitamin c and 8,000mg of sodium

ascorbate form of vitamin c) daily, some days a little less, a couple

days a little more. She's taking five capsules of the D3 for now, and

I'll reduce that to three capsules tomorrow or the next day.

she could really use a good homeopath to consult with - I will send you

someone's name that consults by phone/email/skype

Thank you for trying to help. I have read every bit of it and am making

some sense of the info. I think the best remedy to try would be the

Drosera, I'm just not exactly sure how or how much to administer since I

am not familiar with the measurements and such. If the Vit C atleast

helps the symptoms significantly, and the coughing is manageable, that

would be fantastic. Right now it's pretty bad. Our 4 year old is on the

up and up but the baby is right int he thick of it and it's super

scary.

Again, thanks ahead for any input to send to her.

I have a confirmed case of whooping cough in my classroom. We have two pregnant teachers in our school--one of whom works in my class. Her doctor advised her to get a DaTP booster shot--which she did. It took everything I had not to say something, but she had already done it and I didn't want her to feel bad. But UGGGG! It really made me sad.

baby not vaccinated. I'm assuming confirmed since she mentioned she was given antibiotics for the kids. Vaccinations From: wharrison@...Date: Fri, 11 May 2012 03:04:49 +0000Subject: Re: RE: Re: whooping cough

I'm curious. They had the whooping cough lab-confirmed? I'm assuming the baby wasn't vaccinated?

It's really difficult when you work with someone, too. I'm sure a lot of this goes on. It IS sad.
