Guest guest
Becky, curious about how long you were off aspirin for surgery and how you re-desensitized yourself. My sinuses got opacified in months or less. Is there really such thing as the polyps running their coarse? I don't get many in my maxilary sinuses anymore. In fact, my problem is less polyps and more mucosal thickening. Did you have any thickening or was that good too? Did you try the Vit D3 to see if it helps with your sense of smell? I don't blame you at all for not wanting to be taken off his patient list. 8 months is not long enough to say you're cured. You should feel very optimistic though. I think I'll have to try and visualize your description of your sinuses. It sounds so wonderful. I should be hopping with joy, and I am very pleased, but I am also very cautious, as i still have inflamation and infections and sinus pain and have to rinse my sinuses out daily and still use all my meds...but this is great news! i am very pleased at least that my operation back in June was worth it, and that it worked...so far! Guest guest
Hi Joan, I am usually on 600mg/day, but for 2 weeks prior to surgery I dropped to 150mg which is a safer dose for surgery, then after surgery i slowly went up about 75mg extra every day - taking 10mg predisone too until i got back to 600mg/day. This went well and uneventfully, but just a few weeks before (due to being given an earlier date for surgery which was then postponed just 1 week before the surgery) I'd jumped from 150mg to 600mg and had a big asthma attack and facial swelling - I thought I'd be ok as I'd only been down to 150mg for 3 days. So it's all about doing it in small jumps, and it was easier as I was starting from 150mg rather than 0mg.
