Guest guest
Good advice.. Mine reaction was anaphylactic too. If you even think there is a possibility you may be allergic, don't take aspirin without talking to your doctor. If you have ever seen anaphylactic reaction you would know what we mean. Pretty scary stuff. I never had any indications in my life that I had 'aspirin sensitivity' until my early 30's. The first time I reacted it was to Ibuprofen and I got hives and itchy. A few years later, I hurt my back and decided Ibuprofen worked better than Tylenol and would 'tolerate' a few hives and some itching for pain relief..... huge mistake.... I ended up with anaphylactic reaction in a small town 25 minutes away from the nearest hospital, all two lane highway. When the 'volunteer' Emergency Responders showed up at my house after we dialed 911 (I had no Epi Pen or Nebulizer) wearing jeans and matching T-Shirts, I thought I was going to DIE. I was born and raised in the CITY and never experienced small town living! I could not breathe OR tell them I was having anaphylactic reaction because I thought it was just an asthma attack at the time.... Today, with all of my experiences, I now have just about every med I need at home for an Emergency, minus the tube they shove down your throat. =0 You obviously believe you have Samter's or very similar symptoms, so please wait until you are under your doctor's care to try and take an aspirin! Guest guest
I remember when I was 23 working for laser eye surgeon and I suddenly broke out in hives, not sure what caused them but they happened for weeks. I developed nasal polyps after having my daughter, when I turned 30. Certain things (pepper, alcohol, environment) cause them to swell to the point I feel like I have no nose. Not an open mouth breather, so it can be very uncomfortable and they are worst at night when I need sleep! I got pneumonia last year for the first time in my life and I thought it was due to pilates course I took. I will call my doc first thing Monday, I really appreciate all the support you all are giving me.
