Guest guest
Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (2010, November 30). Neurological protein may hold the key to new treatments for depression. ScienceDaily. Retrieved April 13, 2011, from http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/11/101129111731.htm I basically have suffered from depression, anxiety, panic attacks and burn out.Believe me ,when I was younger I didn't believe any of this would affect me !! The current SSRI's although definitlybeing of benefit (ie increasing brain plasticity, neurogenesis etc) have many undesirable side effects( such as sweating attacks, erectile dysfunction,Increased hardening of the major arteries (arterial stiffness that normally occurs with aging ie 4X) ,increased blood pressure etc.). My belief is that some of my negative experiences and job related stress from work and Samter's (poor treatment for a decade ),poor body image, use of alcohol (affects brain plasticity also ) wired my brain in an undesireable way. So a rewiring and reinforcement of positive changes ,attitudes and habits must be in order to effect positive change. So any new or more specific Pharmaceutical (or natural ,dietary, lifestyle )approaches with less side effects are highly desirable. I'm trying positive approaches to move forward.
