Guest guest
My son was on Singulair for about 8 months, and never had any noticeable side effects. While on Singulair, his fever episodes mellowed out, and he has had no more fevers since December. We stopped Singulair a couple months ago. Guest guest
Hi I just came across your post and I was wondering if your son is still fever free from singulair? Curious b/c pediatrician is at a conference and just texted us telling us he may want to try singulair?

Guest guest
Hi, My daughter is 27 months old, and she's been on Singular since July 2009, right before her 2nd b-day. I haven't noticed any side effects while taking it, she does love to drink lots of water and milk, but she's always drank a lot of fluids, especially milk, we have finally being able to stop her from waking up in the middle of the night and asking for a cup of milk. She drinks about 40 oz of milk a day (4 10oz sippy cups), plus a small bottle of water (6 oz) plus a small juice box. She hasn't been any more irritable than she was before, but she usually starts to get cranky a week or 2 before an episode starts. She's also our only child, so I have no way to compare to others either. Good luck,

Guest guest
My older son took Singulair not for fevers but for seasonal pollen allergies. It didn't occur to me right away because I thought it was just a phase he was going through, but he would be sad/depressed/crying for no reason. I decided to google " singulair side effects in children " and couldn't believe what came up. I stopped right away. That being said, I'm not sure what I would do if it was my younger son who has and it stopped his fevers? Chhaya

Guest guest
My son (6) has been on Singulair for a few years and I have been on it for a few years as well. Neither one of us have had any side effects. NOT to say that it's not possible - we just haven't. Good luck with figuring it out! Hannah > > Hello, > My daughter (18 months) has been on Singulair for the past month to control her fever episodes. So far, she has been fever free! She usually cylces every 15 days. However, over the past two weeks we have noticed that she is very thirsty (she will go though 6 - 8 sippy cups a day) and the past two weeks she has been very, very irritable and crying/throwing fits a lot. She is normally a very happy, easy going child. I don't know if this could all be a side effect from the Singulair or if it is just the terrible twos starting early. She is my only child so I am not sure what to expect. We are seeing her pediatrician on Monday for a regular well being check, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced this with the Singulair. Thank you for your help! >
Guest guest
We took Singulair for a couple of months with no side effects at all. It did actually stop the fevers but we discontinued it as we weren't happy to medicate our daughter daily. The fevers returned and we had a T & A. No fevers since. Guest guest
Samters Friends, I want to share a small miracle that has occurred in my life regarding my history with Samters. I am desensitized to aspirin, but I have been suffering with chronic sinus infections for the last 2 years. I am an elementary school teacher and have seriously been considering leaving the work I love for fear I am in a sick building. Two weeks before Christmas I received an info. pamphlet in the mail regarding Singulair and its side effects. (I have been taking Singulair nightly for the last 5 years to help control polyp growth.) The side effects were many. But two that stood out for me were: Chronic runny nose and chronic sinus infections. I couldn't help but wonder if I suffered from these side effects because I literally blow my nose nonstop. So, I took the info. to my ENT and we agreed that I would stop the Singulair to see if my symptoms improved. Now, he also gave me steroid shots in my turbinates because I was so infected and put me on antibiotic nasal sprays. The miracle is that my nose stopped running within days and I no longer have a sinus infection. This is after a chronic 2-year infection that I couldn't get cleared up! Just wanted to share this in case anyone else is suffering with these possible side effects. If anyone wants me to type out the list of side effects from the pamphlet I was given, I will. I am wondering if a class action suit has been started and that's why I received this information. Jane
Guest guest
Hi Jane, I'm very glad to hear that you are feeling much better at the moment, but i really can't help thinking it's due to the steroid shots and antibiotics, mostly? Steroids work a treat for me in reducing my symptoms. Ive been on singulair for years to, on and off, and I really haven't been able to notice any difference to my sinuses, but it does help lessen my asthma. I know we are all different though and meds will have different side-effects for us. Hope you continue to remain in better health, Becky From: Jane <janesmarino@...>samters Sent: Sun, 9 January, 2011 1:51:48Subject: Singulair side effects Samters Friends,I want to share a small miracle that has occurred in my life regarding my history with Samters. Guest guest
I stopped taking Singulair because it caused depression in my case. At first I thought my extremely dark feelings were due to my condition until I realized the onset of those feelings had coincided with my new prescription for Singulair. So I investigated online and was shocked by the number of people with similar side effects. About two weeks after stopping Singulair I was back to normal, and by the way, it made no difference in my symptoms. Uri
Guest guest
Thanks Becky. I just can't believe a month later I am still feeling good and breathing well. Could it still be the steroid shots I received? I've never had those before.JaneFrom: Bannister <beckyb256@...>Subject: Re: Singulair side effectssamters Date: Sunday, January 9, 2011, 2:28 AM Hi Jane, I'm very glad to hear that you are feeling much better at the moment, but i really can't help thinking it's due to the steroid shots and antibiotics, mostly?
