Guest guest
Hi jerflo13, are you a Spine Dr? On paper, this may not sound bad, but my "pain" is really bad. also I had an MRI 3 years ago and the findings were more extensive then. maybe it depends on who writes up the MRI report. I will be going to see a nurosurgeon next week. My MD put me on cymblata (30mg). we will see how that works for my pain. Shanna www.FreeKibble.Com Donate Free Kibble To Homeless Animals! There is S-shaped scoliosis in the thoracolumbar spine convex to the right superiorly and to the left inferiorly 2. T-12-L1- demonstrates a moderate 5mm posterior central protrusion slightly asymmetric to the left. Associated degenerative changes and disc height loss are demonstrated and moderate impression of the anterior thecal sac is noted but there is no foraminal narrowing. 3. L1-2 demonstrates slight disc bulge without central or foramina narrowing. 4. L2-3 is within normal limits without focal protrusion, central or foramina narrowing. 5. L3-4 demonstrates moderate central stenosis due mainly to severe facet degenerative change and ligamenta flavum hypertrophy. Slight 1mm disc bulge is demonstrated. The neural foramina are patent. 6. L4-5 demostrates mild central stenosis due mainly to facet degenerative change and ligamenta flavum hypertrophy. No disc bulge or protrusion identified on the left however, there is moderate right sided 4mm foraminal protrusion with associated moderate right foramina narrowing. 7. L5-S1 demonstrates moderate facet degenerative change and mild disc bulge asymmertric to the right neural foramina with mild right foramina narrowing. Impression: 1. Moderate focal L3-4 and mild L4-5 central stenosis 2. Moderate right L4-5 foraminal narrowing due to foraminal protrusion 3. Moderate left paracentral T12-L1 protrusion ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------ I will be making an appointment with a nuro-surgeon soon. Guest guest
Shanna, It is true that the reading of an MRI is just nothing more than the opinion of the radiologist that reads it. If you take the MRI pics to several other radiologist, you will get several other opinions, some more detailed than others. It is nothing more than opinions as will be the spine specialists diagnosis. and an MRI pic is only a small piece of the whole picture that is used to diagnose a patient. Guest guest
Yes it is, but it also is used for neuropathy, especially diabetic neuropathy. Guest guest
Cymbalta is also approved for the management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Study shows improvement in pain unrelated to effect on mood and presence of major depression. Below is an article about cymbalta and pain management. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/15180.php Shanna www.FreeKibble.Com Donate Free Kibble To Homeless Animals!> > From: jerflo13comcast (DOT) net <jerflo13comcast (DOT) net>> Subject: Re: My Lumbar MRI results> Spinal Stenosis Treatment> Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 1:25 PM> > > > > > > > dOESNT LOOK THAT BAD TO ME.mAYBE INTENSE p.t BUT TO ME> SURGERY IS NOT WARRANTED AT THIS POINT> > ------------ -- Original message ------------ -- > From: kavi <kaviescontinued> > > > > > > > > Hi everyone> > well here r the results of my lumbar MRI> > 1.
