In which I use for fish, or chicken, I have grown it before, it smells very nice too. Here is some info from 2 different site on your question. ON bottom of info I looked up Ginger too, and it states about baths, not to use too much, I am sure your mixture has appropriate proportions. http://www.ageless.co.za/herb-lemon-verbena.htm Properties It is an aromatic, astringent herb, rich in volatile oils, which has a calming effect, relieving spasms (especially of the digestive system) while reducing fever. The oil contains neral and geranial, borneol, limonene, geraniol, nerol, terpineol, caryophyllene, curcumene, myrcenene, isovalerianic acid, the flavonoids apigenin, luteolin and 6-hydroxylated flavones with their methyl esters (eupafolin, hispidulin, eupatorin and salvigenin). Therapeutic uses Internal use Lemon verbena can be used internally to treat feverish colds. Its antipyretic properties are great to bring down fever and to fight colds and ease asthma. Ginger Recipes: Ginger Tea – Ideally, this should be made with a fresh root. Grate a small piece of ginger [about the size of a nickel] into a mug. Add the juice of a ½ lemon. Fill the mug with boiling water. Stir in a teaspoon of organic honey. Ginger Bath – Bathing in fragrant ginger is a luxury as well as a recipe for getting better. Powdered ginger is the recommended form and it should be added slowly. Start with the addition of 1 tablespoon’s worth of ginger. If that isn’t enough, add another. Don’t add too much. History The plant originated from South America. Growing pattern Tender perennial. How to grow You need to either buy a plant or take stem cuttings. Soil condition/position Soil can be poor and dry but needs a sheltered warm place and will need protecting during the cold weather. Appearance The shrub can grow to 5 feet in height and has long narrow leaves which are highly scented smelling of lemon. It will bloom in late summer the flowers being tiny and white or lilac in colour. Uses Lemon Verbena can be used in fruit dishes, jellies, punches, added to baked custard or home made ice cream. The leaves dry very well and can be used to make a mildly sedative tea. the leaves can also be put among linen and in pot-pourri. make an infusion of the leaves and add to your bath. It is still made into balms and placed on stiff necks and joint pain. 1 ounce drunk as tea up to 3 times a day. This plant is used to keep from dreaming.
