I have quit once before cold turkey, I think it helps to not have them around the house yet to have something to fall back on. My fallback was Coltsfoot. Not only does smoking it help repair the lung damage done, but if you smoke a cig after smoking that it tastes horrid and makes you nauseous. Guest guest Posted December 5, 2007 Report Share Posted December 5, 2007 Cut a straw to the length of a cigarette, stuff it will cotton, enough to still be able to pull air through it. Every time you want a cigarette use this substitute. My deceased Mother-in-Law, used this method and quit, after smoking most of her life! Deep breathing exercises is strongly suggested. Focus only on your breathing. Avoid the areas that you tend to smoke in. It's, also, about breaking habits. To break the anxiety and nervousness, trying taking Valerian or any calming herb. Exercise, also, helps to purge the body of the nicotine, as does the breathing exercises. Also, drink plenty of water and take aura baths, to help purge your system. My own Mother got down on her knees a prayed strongly, and she was able to quit. I am going to quit this coming January. As I find more material, I will post it.
