Hi and welcome! We don't recommend surgeons per se, but we can point you in the

direction of surgeons who have a good amount of experience and would be a good

starting point for a consultation. Some names that have been talked about quite

a bit in NYC are Dr Boachie and Dr Errico. In Boston, Dr Rand and Dr Glazer

have been used quite a bit too. These might be names that you could check into

for insurance coverage and to see if you can find an opinion. When was your

wife's surgery, and has she been diagnosed with flatback by someone?

As an FYI, Dr. Errico has an office in Millburn, NJ, where he sees patients once

a month in addition to his office at NYU.

I saw your question on Feisty Forum.... I had revision surgery 1 1/2 years ago

with Dr Kufflik at the Spine Institute at Beth Israel In NYC. I went from

planning my suicide because of the uncontrollable pain... to now I do

everything.... including riding a bike for the first time since I was a kid. I

am 52 years old,,,, ( going on 34). Just got back from a week in Turkey and had

no issue with sitting on a plane ( in coach) for 8 hours.. and walking from dawn

to dusk. Have your wife call me. This is a major decision and please go to 2

or 3 doctors before you make a decision. I can only tell you that this dr saved

my life. I am no longer in any pain.... From a 10 to a 0. My number is

914-715-6044.

Best,

Peri Basel
