Guest guest
I had my 6 wks post op visit and it was focused mainly on thanking Dr. Kebaish for the incredible job he did. I posted the before and after pics which I think are mighty impressive. I just wish I'd known about flatback syndrome 30 yrs ago and could have had this surgery done then as it would have made a tremendous difference in my ability to work and my quality of life. The biggest differences I notice are in my ability to sit and my tolerance of exercise as well as a great decrease in pain. Dr. Kebaish did not refer me to physical therapy but told me to walk and swim as much as possible. I am having some issues that I think PT might help and at our 3 mo mtg I think I'll insist on a referral. The biggest problem I'm experiencing is a tightness in my hips which I think is muscular though I'm not certain. Whatever it is it's gotten worse over the last 6wks insead of better. However, I'd be in great shape if I only had lumbar issues. Unfortunately I fell a few weeks ago and broke the C7-T1 fusion I had done in April so have instability again affecting my entire spine. My surgeon wants me to try a bone growth stimulator to see if we can salvage the fusion before he tries to fuse me again, this time posteriorly.
