Guest guest
Hello Susie, Welcome to the club no one wants to join but we are doing o.k. just the same. You've got some pretty good advice here on how to cope with the side effects you are dealing with. I am sorry they are so severe for you. How are you doing cytogenetically speaking? Do you know what your FISH and PCR are results are? Sometimes the nasty side effects are easier to take when we can see some benefits. On the other hand, if you are not being helped by Gleevec, it may be time to investigate the other drugs in trial such as AMN107 and the BMS drug. I see that you are from Australia, can you tell us if they have started these trials there. I would imagine they have, especially in Tim lab. The only thing I would add about the nausea is that I have discovered " snacking " in between meals with fresh vegetable juice or something like V8 - it's done wonders for me, and certainly helps me to keep the calories off. Hope some of this helps, Warm healing wishes to you. Cheryl-Anne Please don't get me wrong I am thankful for > Gleevec but does someone know of other drugs that I can take as well > as just to give me a little bit of quality of life....talk to me....
