Guest guest
Hi, Melody, and a warm welcome to the Feisty Forum . . . We're glad to have you as a member -- as you probably know, you HAVE just sent your first post to us! Whenever you feel ready, I hope you will send us a moderately brief intro. to yourself (or not so brief, depending on your personal style -- but shorter posts may get the most thorough reading, as I have learned from being a " long-winded " writer most of my life). The post you sent us is wonderful example of a perfectly clear and succinct message! I want to extend an equally warm and enthusiastic welcome to everyone else who has recently joined the group, with apologies that I have not had a chance to address everyone individually. Regarding your introductory post about yourself -- and this goes for all new members -- we like to know what brought you to the Feisty group, what is going on with your spine and in your life generally, what you hope to get from this group -- anything like that which you would like to share or which you think our members might be interested to know. Please look over the information you should have received in your email for new Feisty members. It's pretty current, although I will be adding minor updates soon. It also goes out every month as a recurrent reminder to members of our customs, posting protocols, mail options, etc. (I'm hoping to upgrade it to a more timely kind of newsletter soon, but we have relatively few moderators for a group this size, approximately 600 members as of this month.) If anything isn't clear, feel free to ask -- preferably in a private email to me (elizabethrgonzalez@...) or, if I am not available, in an email to my co-moderator Maas. As mentioned in the material you received by email, it's a good idea to look through the message archives for an answer to any specific medical question you may have, unless you are sure it is unique. Only if you don't find it there, send us a post about it. Otherwise we end up reinventing the wheel every few months, since so many new members have very similar questions. We hope you will enjoy the group. Best, List Manager > > I just joined this group and would like to be able to post messages. Thank > you! Guest guest
Well Anya, thats because of the type of board you set up. After a while people want to go to the next level which is terrific. But we are such a varied lot of people if someone were to break out in prose over a scent most of us would understand that fervor. And it isn't considered 'odd'....people have been trying to close the top of that box on me and my eccentricities for years.....they just havent found duct tape strong enough I can't gnaw thru.....=) Plus, there is a an immense amount of knowledge here about the various processes of how precious oils are extracted and the myriad forms they are available and the differences in what would appear same type essences.....thats offering us a taste of connisseurs and their expertise. I think once you are drawn to this level you have also grown more aware as well....this is the bounty of living plants and their essences, almost their souls . I doubt any of us would do this if it didn't strike a chord within us we cant describe in words....its a way of 'being' I think. Truthfully, do any of us plant flowers and plants now that simply must resonate with us personally? I plan to do a purposeful garden this year. I always had one but for medicinal and its aromatic properties but I didn't harvest much for personal use unless it was medicinal . Now I want to do so for other puposes as well. I can do both. evie
Guest guest
I have been writing garden grants for Emerson Middle School in L.A. for ten years. The kids plant lots of things for their purposes. I will start a scented garden next year if I decide to continue the program. > Truthfully, do any of us plant flowers and plants now that simply must resonate with us personally? Don't know if you're aware I have an Anya's Garden group there and a Natural Perfumers Guild (nonofficial) also. -- Best Wishes Always, Anya http://AnyasGarden.com http://NaturalPerfumers.com

Guest guest
thank you, you are a peach! its hard to flip that switch from medicinal to scent only tho I've always had a fragrant garden... liked sitting in it smelling the flowers and waving my hands across herbs that would stimulate them to release their scent.........i guess i was doing that in a round about way, creating scent, changing the energy of my environment with natural aromatherapy. This is so new and exhilarating for me....I'm ebaying all of my fo's....most of them, I do have my die hard BBW people and it pays for my habit...er....hobby......=) One thing I learned is you dont become a master blender overnite and without years of apprenticeship do you? which means.......if the time frame I saw is accurate.....I'll be deceased.......just toss scent on my sleeping place beneath the stars and give the flowers to the guy next to me who doesnt have anything in his vase. I do that with my daughter and grand daughter's sleeping place. Each month I take scent, annoint their names, leave a bit hidden and replace the silks and take the old ones to the person who looks forgotten.......and i add a few touches of scent on that. Maybe I'll get a good mark in the akashic records......might bring my life grade up to a D- LOL.....as my mom said to me regarding math 'just pass Evie, I'll take a D-, just pass'.......more than a few nuns burnt many a candle to get me out of their class LOL......its a wonder the church didn't burn down. I'm guessing the way I think now has em all turning over anyway. hugs, e
