Guest guest
Hi Judy, It's great to see you here. Your relapse is about as easy to explain as is why any of us got CML in the first place. There is no answer. I don't believe the stress theory myself only because I don't beleive there's such a thing as a stress free life. We all have stressors. Some are losing their jobs, some are losing their spouces, some are dealing with rebellious kids, some are dealing with financial issues etc... Not everyone gets sick and some who actually have no stressors (although those are few and far between) don't get sick. I know others disagree with me because we've had this discussion before but like the saying goes, " to each his own " . Bottom line is that you're doing great now on Gleevec and you have every reason to believe that you will continue to live a long and healthy life. Your perspective is essential to the group because you represent a small, albeit important, subgroup of patients who have relapsed from BMT. Newbies who are making tough decisions, need to know all the risks, and all the posible outcomes in order to make informed decisions. And for those who are going through relapses, you represent hope for a better day. You are a real assent to the group! Take care, Tracey
