Hello All!

I'm decorating a 'purple' jacket for my upcoming Anchorage marathon

with the Leukemia Society's Team in Training. I can't believe I'll

be in Alaska within two weeks...

On the back of the jacket, at the top, will be: 'In memory of Marque

Leseur'. Underneath that, 'In honor of' followed by ALL of your names

(inside decorated white felt squares pinned onto the jacket). Each

square will have your name, like 'Zavie M.', 'Margot M.', 'Dane

T.', 'Cheryl-Anne' and so on. (No last names, just last initials.)

My goal is NOT to leave anyone out and to fill this jacket up!

Here are the names I have so far. Please email me off list if you'd

like your name on my jacket (soon, as I have to finish it by next

weekend!). Forgive me if I've forgotten you on this list:

Hunter, Zavie M., Margot M., G., Cheryl-Anne, Giora, Jerry

M., Tracey, , , Kay, D., Jeanie, Kristy, Dane

T., Barbara, Mike B., H., Bob, , Dave G., Sharon,

Bruce, R, T, Terry D, Anjana, Barb S., , Judy,

C, , L., Cheryl, M., M., Joan P.,

Gloria, Shari

To your good blood,

Hey Gale,

This is a really cool idea, please take a picture so that we can see

what your jacket looks like.

Congratulations!

Hi Gale,

I may be jumping to assumptions here but I think the Tracey you're

writing on your jacket refers to me??? If so, I'm honoured and

touched. Thank you so much.

Tracey

PS, my last initial is F if you want to include it.

If I can figure out now to upload a picture to the photo album, I'll

upload one prior to the marathon. No telling what shape it will be in

AFTER! (Or me either - haha ...)

I couldn't do this without your support. This group has given me so

much in the last 5 years and carried me through some pretty rough

times, especially during my first diagnosis. I'm honored to be able to

run/walk for all of us. We need more research for a cure!

And I honestly believe we will see this in our lifetimes.

Hi Gale,

That is such a nice, thoughtful gesture!

I'm also looking forward to my trip to Alaska. Unfortunately, I have

been just plagued by various injuries and medical problems this training

season, so I'm very discouraged, as I don't think there's any way I will

actually be able to run the whole thing (and I'm only doing the

half-marathon). <sigh> Maybe we'll bump into each other at the pasta

party or around town. I'm sure I'll be the one limping around. :-)

Best of luck to you in the run. Have a wonderful time -- enjoy it! See

you on the trails .....

Hi Gale,

I am VERY impressed that you are running a marathon, and

G., too! You all are a true inspiration. If I am the

in your list, it's my husband Karl who has CML, I'm just

his right-hand man in all things computer(and these days memory, too

with the Gleevec). If I'm not we would both be honored if you would

add his name to the list.

Good Luck--- and God Speed(Get it?),

Gale,

I'm thoroughly impressed by anyone who runs a marathon. That you are a CML'er

makes it all the more special. I don't post very often, but my husband and I

would be honored if you would include his name on your jacket: Jim D.

Best wishes,

Adrienne

Gale,

It's great to hear about your Alaska TNT marathon! Hope it's a beautiful, cool

day...perfect for running, in other words.

Can you add Chelsea C. to your jacket? Her dad, Larry, is also running a TNT

marathon--his is in October in San Francisco. (and I'm going to tell him about

your jacket idea.) He picked that the SF marathon, because Chelsea is going to

San Francisco State in the Fall!!! She graduates high school in 2 weeks. We

are all so thrilled. She just celebrated her 5-year anniversary from her cord

blood transplant and, although still on crutches from her second knee surgery

(due to avascular necrosis from all the prednisone she took), she's going to

Prom tomorrow night. Happy, happy days.

Thanks, and good running!

Hi ,

Sorry to hear about your injuries...

Look around for me - I'll be the 5'2 " brunette with my hair up on top

of my head (like Pebbles!), wearing a light wind breaker purple jacket

with all our names written in white felt squares. You can't miss me!

marathon in Alaska - since Marque was such a " mountain man " .

Tiger Terry!! Great to hear from you.

I was wondering what happened to some of the old timers...

Next time I come to visit my friend in Denver, I'll have to look

you up!

BTW - for all:

I have a new email address: divergal @ solbroadband.com

My old email will be turned off at the end of this week.

Hi Gale,

I think that a 1/2 marathon is a great accomplishment, and

what a nice place to travel to.

Also, it is very special to me that you are doing this in memory

of Marque Lesuer.......a special guy and a CML Warrior!

I am honored to have my name on your jacket.......and we

want to see you running in it.

Thanks! Okay so you'll be running 13 miles instead of 26. Most people can't

walk even 1 mile. I'm thoroughly impressed and wish you the best of luck and

many more marathons, full or half, in the future.

Hi Giora,

Unfortunately, my website came down last year. It was easy to

maintain when I wasn't working and out on disability. However, I'm

much too busy training for races, working and just living life to

maintain it now. I suppose I'm trying to make up for all the time I

spent on the couch from the interferon days! (My couch still has a

permanent 'body dent' in it from 4 years ago! Haha!

I did save all the pictures from the site and I may do another one at

some time. I'm very glad to hear you found it beneficial.

's site is a good one also for CML resources and Gleevec

links.
