Guest guest
Hello All! I'm decorating a 'purple' jacket for my upcoming Anchorage marathon with the Leukemia Society's Team in Training. I can't believe I'll be in Alaska within two weeks... On the back of the jacket, at the top, will be: 'In memory of Marque Leseur'. Underneath that, 'In honor of' followed by ALL of your names (inside decorated white felt squares pinned onto the jacket). Each square will have your name, like 'Zavie M.', 'Margot M.', 'Dane T.', 'Cheryl-Anne' and so on. (No last names, just last initials.) My goal is NOT to leave anyone out and to fill this jacket up! Here are the names I have so far. Please email me off list if you'd like your name on my jacket (soon, as I have to finish it by next weekend!). Forgive me if I've forgotten you on this list: Hunter, Zavie M., Margot M., G., Cheryl-Anne, Giora, Jerry M., Tracey, , , Kay, D., Jeanie, Kristy, Dane T., Barbara, Mike B., H., Bob, , Dave G., Sharon, Bruce, R, T, Terry D, Anjana, Barb S., , Judy, C, , L., Cheryl, M., M., Joan P., Gloria, Shari To your good blood, Gale Bacon dx'd 3/00 Gleevec 400mg

Guest guest
Hi Gale, I may be jumping to assumptions here but I think the Tracey you're writing on your jacket refers to me??? If so, I'm honoured and touched. Thank you so much. Tracey PS, my last initial is F if you want to include it. __________________________________________ -- In , " Gale " <divergal@a...> wrote: > Hello All! > > I'm decorating a 'purple' jacket for my upcoming Anchorage marathon > with the Leukemia Society's Team in Training. Guest guest
Yes, it's the 'one and only you'... (If there's another 'Tracey' then I'll include the F. - thanks for telling me.) - Gale

Guest guest
I couldn't do this without your support. This group has given me so much in the last 5 years and carried me through some pretty rough times, especially during my first diagnosis. I'm honored to be able to run/walk for all of us. We need more research for a cure! And I honestly believe we will see this in our lifetimes. - Gale
Guest guest
Hi Gale, That is such a nice, thoughtful gesture! I'm also looking forward to my trip to Alaska. Unfortunately, I have been just plagued by various injuries and medical problems this training season, so I'm very discouraged, as I don't think there's any way I will actually be able to run the whole thing (and I'm only doing the half-marathon). <sigh> Maybe we'll bump into each other at the pasta party or around town. I'm sure I'll be the one limping around. :-) Best of luck to you in the run. Have a wonderful time -- enjoy it! See you on the trails ..... jennifer g. [ ] My Alaska Jacket Hello All! Guest guest
Gale, It's great to hear about your Alaska TNT marathon! Hope it's a beautiful, cool day...perfect for running, in other words. Can you add Chelsea C. to your jacket? Her dad, Larry, is also running a TNT marathon--his is in October in San Francisco. (and I'm going to tell him about your jacket idea.) He picked that the SF marathon, because Chelsea is going to San Francisco State in the Fall!!! She graduates high school in 2 weeks. We are all so thrilled. She just celebrated her 5-year anniversary from her cord blood transplant and, although still on crutches from her second knee surgery (due to avascular necrosis from all the prednisone she took), she's going to Prom tomorrow night. Happy, happy days. Thanks, and good running! Auntie Lori
Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to hear about your injuries... Look around for me - I'll be the 5'2 " brunette with my hair up on top of my head (like Pebbles!), wearing a light wind breaker purple jacket with all our names written in white felt squares. Guest guest
Hi Giora, Unfortunately, my website came down last year. It was easy to maintain when I wasn't working and out on disability. However, I'm much too busy training for races, working and just living life to maintain it now. I suppose I'm trying to make up for all the time I spent on the couch from the interferon days! (My couch still has a permanent 'body dent' in it from 4 years ago! Haha! I did save all the pictures from the site and I may do another one at some time. I'm very glad to hear you found it beneficial. 's site is a good one also for CML resources and Gleevec links.
