Guest guest
Margaret In Bath & NE Somerset PCT we are undertaking a programme to improve the emotional health of school children. Using funds from The Children's Fund and a programme called 'Friends' (originally Australian) the School nurses carry out a programme of lessons. This is now being used in all primary schools except one and evaluation has commenced and so far has been increasingly positive. The programme is being managed by a clinical psychologist from our CAMHS team. Ruth seeking information Dear all Am looking for information in two areas for people to speak at conferences. 1. Does anyone have contact details for Sheffield Hallam University/University of Sheffield where they have a combined universities learning unit which is undertaking a two year project exploring the best way to involve lay people in the training of health professionals 2. contact details for Slough PCT where I understand they are doing work promoting the mental health of school aged children as part of their mental health promotion strategy. Details of this pr anything similar would be very helpful Many thanks Margaret

Guest guest
HI! I'm a parent of a six-year-old boy on the autism spectrum. I'm new to this group and Masgutova. Trying to decide if this will work for my child or not. We tried having someone do some Masgutova exercises with him for two weeks on a daily basis. The hope was to see if it would have any impact on calming him down, helping with attention or increasing language. Instead of helping, I found it sent him backwords and riled him up more. It caused aggression that we have not seen before, increased temper tantrums and negative impact on attention. Has anyone had this experience? If so, what do you do? IN general, can people tell me what success you have had using Masgutova with kids on the spectrum? My son is verbal but has a significant issue with conversation or using his spontaneous language beyond expressing wants and needs. He also has significant attention and sensory processing issues. HOw much does Masgutova help with these issues? Seeking guidance and information before I make any more investment of time or money behind this program. Thanks Elaine
