Down syndrome

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is Incredible! I'm wondering what Songs and DVD's did you use to compliment your son's Prompt Speech Therapy? My son is 12 years old, with autism and oral/motor apraxia. His speech therapy is Prompt Certified, and my son has indicated that "Prompt" helps him get his words out.

I have an 11 year old son with DS and also PDD which is on the autistic spectrum

I saw that the school was not succeeding with teaching him to speak

I took a Prompt speech course and I spent 30 to 40 hours a week on speech therapy which I taught him myself

I have over 1800 songs for him and I have over 300 DVDs it has paid off

He understands everything. He has a wide general knowledge and he loves life

I got him moved from a life skills program to a cognitive program and the staff have read over 20 children’s books to him this year

I am teaching him alef beis and how to read

He was born premature at 27 weeks and he had many sensory motor issues. Thank G-d those are now mostly resolved

He only walked at 4 years and he still does not jump

He stayed permanently in hospital til the age of 2 1/2 years and he had frequent pneumonia

He is the love of our lives he is such a strong character and he is so happy and positive
