Guest guest
, I'm a 57 yr. old grandmother, who can't hardly walk, and has leukemia, and you want me to hang from a rod. Have you lost your mind? LOL , just kidding. I know what your saying, but I think I'll pass on the hanging to ck my back . I'll post tomorrow night after I have the EMG. They should be able to tell me something after the testing. The best medicine is laughter and I just had to laugh, just thinking about me hanging, but I do respect your advice. Hi Kay, I meant to add....only if it does not cause pain to do this! That's better than swinging from the outhouse door, right? Actually, traction can be a very effective treatment for a low back disc problem....and that was the cheap home method of trying it out. Here's another one to try.....maybe after your medical assessment. Try to lie on your stomach over a pillow on a firm surface....quit if you have pain or it starts to develop. Rest for a few minutes, then see what it feels like to slowly lift your head and shoulders and prop on your elbows, like a baby would. That is a McKenzie technique to try to reduce a bulging disc and can be helpful. Sorry I can't make a house call. You can respect me because I am your elder...I am 58. Hope they get things figured out for you. Maui Nanc
Guest guest
Kay, There are two 85+ year old twin sisters in my yoga class. They can stand on their hands and walk across the room. They can bend their legs over their heads and touch the floor. They have more mobility than I have at age 45... amazing. Oh, and the best part - they didn't start doing yoga until they were 75. When my bulging lumbar vertabrae hurt so bad last year I couldn't sleep, I'd stretch my hands up to the top of the bedroom door and bend my knees to hang. It felt soooooo good. So, try the hanging thing - you might like it! But don't let the grandkids see you at first... <big grin> Love, Gale Bacon > > , I'm a 57 yr. old grandmother, who can't hardly walk, and > has leukemia, and you want me to hang from a rod.
