Guest guest
Thaisetthawatkul et al Neurology; October 2004: 1462-1470 "A Controlled study of peripheral neuropathy after bariatric surgery" Towards the end of the article they mention that those that attended a "nutrition clinic" were less likely to develop peripheral neuropathy and malnutrition was likely avoided because of this. Of course they do not say registered dietitian but they do underscore the importance of the nutrition aspect. Hope this helps Laschkewitsch RD LDDietitian, Legacy Obesity Institute(503) 413-8135 -----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of deannamachacSent: Monday, October 02, 2006 10:11 AM Subject: articles I am wondering if anyone has ever read any articles on the benefit of seeing a dietitian after bariatric surgery. If so, could you please let me know where I can find the article? I am looking for any article that would describe whether outcomes including weight, BMI, complications etc. were better for patients seeing a dietitian post-op. Guest guest
Hi Mel, Thanks for the interesting articles. That is terrible that all those babies and children in Australia are suffering from scabies. I wonder if this is something that has gotten worse because of genetic engineering of bugs? Either way, it's a shame that a rich country like Australia is not helping their infested children. I also thought the lice/ivermectin article was interesting. I didn't know you could use ivermectin topically. I'm not willing to take it internally. I seem to be having pretty good results with the herbs so far. I had to stop taking the parasite herb formula because the chaparral was starting to make me sick, and I'm taking a different formula now, called " Acne formula " , but it's actually a liver tonic and blood purifier. The ingredients are Manjistha, Neem, Red Sandalwood, Brahmi, Burdock, Triphala, and Tumeric. I started taking it about a week ago. Two days after I started taking it, I began to feel lousy, like I was in a super bad mood and wanted to find someone in the parking lot at work to beat up. Then I got real tired for a couple of days. On Wednesday it felt like bugs were crawling on me all day, which hadn't happened in a while and I thought my carpet or chair at work was infested, but it turns out the problem was me. On Thursday I had an acupuncture treatment and the acupuncturist asked me if the bugs were coming out of my skin. I had to stop and think, but I believe that is the case. I had bugs crawling out my eye area, scalp, crotch, feet, and basically just scampering on my body for a few days, but now, Sunday, it seems to have stopped. I went to my mother's house this morning, which is totally infested, and the bugs didn't swarm me like they usually do. I will turn 50 years old this month, and I believe my problem is going away, and I don't believe I will have this the rest of my life. Don't give up Mel, you will get better. Keep trying, I can tell you're trying hard to get better.
