Guest guest
I have always made sure that everytime we do therapy with our three children to do the bonding/fear paralysis with them. They really seem to enjoy that one. There has been more research into oxytocin recently. This chemical is released during labor and sometimes given to induce labor. It is also the bonding chemical. The interesting thing is this. I believe from what I have read that it is the fetus that actual releases the oxytocin to induce labor. On the other hand if you are stressed it will inhibit the body's ability to produce oxytocin and instead your body will produce the stress hormone cortisol. In treating our boys autism they have actually prescribed oxytocin. Apparently some doctors are using it to help marriages now too. It appears some people make a whole lot less oxytocin than others. All of our children (7) were born ceasarean with little to no labor. It makes me wonder do the FP reflexes help the body learn to release oxytocin? Do the other reflexes help the body in releasing other important neurotransmitters? Perhaps even neurotransmitters we haven't yet discovered?
