Guest guest
Im here to introduce myself; I'm Lynne.I live in Colorado.I am not yet familiar with Dr. Masgutova but am learning. My youngest daughter has hypotonia and other medical issues. She is the youngest of 6 and I knew when I was pregnant that something wasn't right, her movements changed from strong to really light and feathery. Of course, the doctor said I was 'oversensitive'. I switched doctors in my last trimester. When my duaghter was born, the cord was around her neck and she didn't cry. I kept asking what was wrong and everyone said 'nothing, shes just happy looking around'. I knew that wasn't right. She had no startle reflex, was really floppy, like a doll, couldn't nurse ( I had nursed all 5 previously) she needed to be held close to keep calm, we all wore her in a sling for over a year, she kept losing weight, her mouth muscles didnt work, she went to Easter Seals for awhile, they graduated her, but still something just wasnt right. Now, she is 9, we relocated and she went for an evaluation with an OT and PT and she is being referred to a peduatric neurologist, there is more than just 'mild cp', she has visual, auditory, and sensory processing disorders, she is being fitted for orthotics, she has abnormal posture, extremity weakness, gait abnormality, hypermobility and hypotonia. I'm a homeschooling mom and love to learn. I want to help my little one and others, first we need to find out exactly what is going on and why she's having such a hard time with so many issues. She does have a number of food intolerances and allergies as well as asthma and latex allergy and we keep her on a gluten and casein free diet; I, myself have Celiac and Crohns and our family has been gf for 8 years now. I found out it was Celiac about a year after she was born, I often wonder if that could be a reason for these health issues, the lack of vitamins and nutrients she received from my not knowing what was making me so sick. It took about 10 years of being sick to figure it out. I would really like to exchage information and support with others going through simialar situations. Thank you so much.
