Guest guest
Hello, We are going to the Family camp in Poland from 9 to 22 October with our 7.5 year old son. We would like to know whether other people on this Forum will also go. We would also like to receive good advice from those who have already been to a Family camp. What can we do beforehand, what to expect , etc? We want to take full advantage of this camp as it might be the only time we can afford it. Many thanks for your replies and advice. I recently joined and haven't introduced myself. I am an OT with a private practice in Cupertino, CA. We have two boys, now grown and in college. Our younger son has a mild hearing loss, vertical imbalance of his eyes, scoliosis, food sensitivities and attention problems. We have done therapeutic listening, oral motor and vision therapies - I have gone to countless conferences and have many certificates - Beckman, advanced therapeutic listening, Wilbarger, SIPT, cranial sacral, nutrition, visual vestibular, yoga, etc. We have done all the general OT type therapies. Our son functions very well and has come further than I'd ever had imagined. He was in a special day classroom for a couple years and then had resource support after that. He appeared to have extreme ADD and possibly bipolar disorder. Changing his diet was most significant (GFDF - despite having no test confirm any sensitivity). He says gluten causes ADD for him. Now working on the reflexes we are continuing to see improvements. He is 18 years old, so it's never too late to see results with the reflexes. I also use the reflexes in every therapy session as an OT. I work with mostly high functioning Autism, LD, ADD/ADHD, fine and gross motor skills. I'm seeing amazing results with the reflexes. It seems that the reflex work is cutting therapy time approximately in half. What used to take me 3 months to integrate with children, I'm seeing in 4-6 weeks. I will continue to take courses, as I've only been to the Dynamic Postural Reflexes and Proprioceptive and Cognitive courses. I have recommended family camp to many parents, although I haven't been to one yet. Is there a calendar for 2012? I am looking forward to learning more.Take Care,Judy -- Janet Olney Mc, M.Ed., LMT, CH Neurodevelopmental Therapist & Instructor Licensed Massage Therapist (MA#64436) Brain Gym Consultant / Instructor Reflexes Integration Specialist / Instructor Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-help Instructor Quantum Wave Laser Consultant www.JanetOWellnessAndLearning.com
