Guest guest
Hi Lynne. I do not see a reply from the group yet so I thought I would send you some support. It sounds like your daughter is a strong insightful girl as are you. I have worked with children with challenges for many years and often hear stories like yours. Mothers do know when their children are reacting differently to the world. I hope the neurological appointment will help to explain the regression you noted in her upper body skills. I think finding someone in your area who uses MNRI would help answer some of your questions and give you a new direction for therapy. It sounds as though you have used sensory integration techniques in the past. I have found that those techniques help the brain but not at a deep enough level. Dr. Masgutova's work has greatly improved my success with children who are diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Aspergers. The diagnosis is not the key to improvement. As Dr. Masgutova says, it's finding those key reflexes that are not fully integrated and helping the brain build new pathways that is the true step toward improved development. It sounds like your daughter would be motivated to follow through with exercises and you are open to new ideas. Please let us know where you live so we can help you locate someone to get you started. Best of luck. Hansen, M.Ed, MOT
Guest guest
Dear Lynne and , I am new the this group and have been meaning to email to Lynne but had not. Quite found the time yet. I am glad to read your email because I have experienced the same issue with using sensory integration therapy and not getting the results we were especting. It waa until my friend that practices the Masgutona Method told me about this. So we will be starting MNRI therapy soon hoping to get the results we want. For you Lynne my son also was diagnosed with a self regulation disorder and an auditory processing disorder. It has been hard! But getting through it all... focusing on the bright side of him and his strengths. Best of luck finding someone to help you!
