Guest guest
Hi, When I met Svetlana Masgutova in Minneapolis last September at a mini-clinic, she told me that the masgutova exercises should be done 5 days a week, the weekends off and every 5th week is off Masgutova exercises as well to let the body rest in between. I have heard that doing it while they are asleep is good. I am thinking that during the Masgutova camps or clinics, children are getting up to 6 times 50 minutes of Masgutova exercises, so I can't see that doing it an hour and a half would be bad. Actually, we did 5 times the whole routine of Masgutova exercices (tactile, neuro-structural, rotations, babinsky, and others - until we learned that it was 7 times each movement, not 5 times the whole routine every day. When we realized our misunderstanding, we inquired and were told that the extra exercises every day weren't anything negative for our son, just worked even more on his protection. Our 11 year old son, by the way, is dyspraxic and dysgraphic. You, like many other Masgutova parents, are very committed to your children ! Big hugs to you !le Program for my child Hi everyone, Our daughter who is 3 years old with high functioning autism, is tactile sensitive and uncertain in her body with off balance, low tone, flat feet and overall slow in her movements. We recently started a home program which takes us 90 minutes to complete daily. With other demands, therapies and children it appears excessive and we wonder if it is effective to do so much on a young child as well if it is in line with the Masgutova philosophy. We end up doing most of it while she is asleep and wondering how effective that is. We do about 1/2hr of tactile and the rest is tendon guard release. Does this appear reasonable? Any comments or recommendations would be very helpful. You can email me directly. Thanks so much.
