Guest guest
Hi Amy, Did Dr. K say that there were any other signs that were concerning other than the basophil increase? Do you know what your absolute basophil count was (as opposed to the percentage count)? My last test showed my basophils have also gone up. Our lab reports don't show the percentages so I had to calculate it myself using the absolute count. I figured it out to be 2.9%. Previous to that, it was always in the 0%-1% range. I mentioned it to my doctor the last time I saw him but he didn't say much. Now you have me wondering. Did Dr. K say that there could be any other explaination for the increase? Lets hope we can both breath easier soon, Tracey > Hey everyone! I'm home. I had my appointment with Dr. Kantarjian > yesterday and my BMA. Not the best experience to date. Guest guest
Tracey, Dr. Kantarjian said it is possible that it may be nothing but he was definitely concerned. My absolute basophil count was 17. My percentage was 2%. They talked about the BMS trial and what it would entail for me to be a part of it. They said to wait for the results and we would proceed from there. He said since my basophils had been at " 0 " that the increase is significant. Thats all I know right now. But when I get more information I'll let you know. My eosinophil count was elevated as well but he didn't say anything about that. WBC's, PLT and Hemoglobin all with in normal limits. Thats all I know for now. Amy > > Hey everyone! I'm home. I had my appointment with Dr. Kantarjian > > yesterday and my BMA. Not the best experience to date. Guest guest
WBC 8.9 PLT 348 H/H 12 & 37. All that is normal. I explained to Dr. K that the only difference lately was increased fatigue. It has gotten hotter here and I have contributed it to that. Amy > > > > Hey everyone! I'm home. I had my appointment with Dr. > > Kantarjian > > > > yesterday and my BMA.
