would an ear band work? As an adult who has ear tubes since I was seven, on and off throughout the years and I have a hearing loss I STRONGLY urge you to use something for your children's ears if they have ear infections, tubes, or really small ear canals. Our kiddos can't always communicate to us what is going on with their ears so I try to be the voice. Ear bands seem to help when the plugs don't. You can get these little orange ear things that are somewhat like putty that fit in our darlings ears. I think swim stores carry them. I found ours at the wisconsin dells of all places!

Do you know what they are made of? I bought what I thought was moldable ones- silocone- but when I tore them in half to make them fit, they won't stick. They don't really 'mold' very easily, but you can alter their shape slightly. Maybe there are different type materials?Roquemores <dtroquemore@...> wrote: What about the moldable ones you can get at the drug store? My girlfriend used them for her daughter. Carol,

I like this company. http://www.earbandit.com We have used these bands for Mark since he had tubes. We also had a plug made exactly for his ear. This was done at his ENT's office. Talk to your doctor about this. Mark had a perforated ear drum after one tube fell out, so it was critical he wear a good plug. The headband keeps the plug from coming out.

On the ear plugs that my girlfriend used....the best ones were the ones the doctor made for her daughter. She did use the OTC ones, which worked ok, but the best ones were custom made.
