Guest guest
This is my 118 week to be on Gleevec, and I think out of that time I have probably missed 6 doses. Each time due to N/V before taking them. Certainly didn't want to waste a dose! I figure it isn't going to help if it stays in the bottle! Amy B. Guest guest
Which is 826 doses, and if you calculate it out, I have missed < 1% of my doses! Guest guest
, I've missed, on average, about 1 dose (400mg) every two months or so. If I miss a dose, usually because I was sick, or didn't eat enough that day, then I make sure to take 600mgs sometime the next day or the day after. Taking Gleevec twice a day is hard, because I often have to eat when I am not hungry, just to take my dose....so it has dictated my life a bit. I have missed very few doses......once when I was hospitalized I was off for 17 days.....and occasionally when the meals do get goofed up, I may only take it once a day (but then will take 600mg to split the difference). This doesn't even happen once a month. So, I am a Gleevec faithful. C.

Guest guest
Unfortunately, I have to skip days because of nausea, and that is why I have had near-relapse situations lately. I cannot believe that I miss my dose some days, seeing as how I lucky I have been with my most recent qPCR results. A holiday weekend, such as the Fourth, finds me very busy with activities and at night, as I drift off to sleep the realization dawns that I have forgotten to take my Gleevec. After 5 years, you'd think it would be ingrained in my daily pattern, but it is not. I think subconsciously I'd rather not take it due to the resulting side effects, but I know I have to in order to stay in remission. I get too lax, perhaps a sign of the lazy life I know lead. Only time will tell if my dosing breaks are beneficial or harmful. - Lynne A.
