Hi ,

You mean that not only do we join the club that nobody wants to join

(CML)... I have to be in the " UGLY EYE CLUB " too? Sigh.. lol What's

next?

I was embarrased to have to go out in public, but had an appointment

that I couldn't miss.. so I fielded all the " What happened to your

eye? " questions. I didn't feel a thing, but it sure looks scary! I

just told my kids that I'm trying out something new for Halloween a

little early. They laughed! It's always something, but the good

news is that, in one day, it has improved.

Thanks for your reassurance that it will go away on it's own. I

appreciate it very much.

Take Care, and thanks again,

Lynn (Snickersunny)

This is a bit bizarre but today I had my first eyebleed or a burst

blood vessel in my left eye. It doesn't really hurt, just feels

tight or dry. Went to see a nurse and she told me it could occur if

your platelets are too low (less than 50). My platelets were 116 a

few weeks ago.

Just thought it was odd that it happened today then I read the posts

and find out that it's happening to other cml'ers.

Hi Suzan,

These subconjunctival eye bleeds are not related to low platelets (for most

people). Dr. Druker says he does not know the cause. Gleevec does cause

small vessel leakage.....but this is not the cause. The red cell is too big

to leak through the membrane.

So, now you are part of the CML family.....the Zavie's ZERO club.....and

you just got initiated to the " UGLY eye club " ......but better to save it

for Halloween!

I have had them for years.....usually one or two....then none for months

and I think they are history........or maybe I jinx myself saying they are

gone.

Best tasting antidote.....eat lots of blueberries.....good for eyes and

good for the integrity of cell membranes.

Nice to see you on the list.....sorry about the red eye.

C.
