Majeed and his medicine the true story

Dear Friends,

I am from Kerala and I know the story of Majeed well. What he sells as IMUNO

QR is nothing but an old ayurvedic medicine made by one Vaidya of Alwaye.

This medicine was then known as Kamilary, which was administered for the

cure of jaundice. Majeed was one of the salesmen for this vaidya. He

used this medicine when AIDS came around.

As we all say there is no medicine for AIDS the infected people has no

place to go. This is where he entered. He used the long incubation period of

HIV as the result of his medicine. Anyone can give anything to cure AIDS if

the patient is ignorant of this long incubation period. He has swindled

thousands of people and is still doing it.

We, the concerned NGOs, who work in AIDS prevention projects, did

everything to stop this heartless fellow. But our laws have so much

loopholes you can't really nail him. I wouldn't mind him selling anything to

people as there is no real medicine against it. It could work as a

psychological boost to help people, like any faith, to face the onslaught of

this disease.

But what is bad about the whole thing is that people who are

HIV+ after using his medicine got married and infected hapless women. We

have a group of HIV+ people in Kochi(CPK+), among them there are two women

whose husbands married them after taking Majeed's medicine. Their husbands

are dead and they are facing death now. I had a friend who was HIV+, who

took Majeed's medicine and is now no more.

So I have first hand knowledge of this medicine. Now I know lot of other

people who are the victims of HIV and Majeed alike. I am working in an AIDS

prevention project for the last five years and Majeed's medicine makes it

difficult for us to ask people to practice safe sex, as they believe that

there is a way out. When there is medicine why one should go through all

the trouble of practicing safe sex?

Majeed is a leech riding on the back of HIV.

I am sorry to write something like this against a fellow human being but I

have no choice.
