Guest guest
http://www.ldpodcast.com/homepage.html I just learned something new today....if a child doesn't know their colors it's a red flag regarding reading. The quote was " show me a child who doesn't know their colors, and I'll show you a child who can't read' or pretty close to that! I always wondered what the big deal was about colors in preschool ;-) The above podcast is really loaded with more info then most of us can ingest in a day, but very well worth your time. This site broadcasts podcast 24/7 over the net , so no need for an mp3 player. Actually you can listen to any podcast on the net, either right off their site or through iTunes which is free. With iTunes you could subscribe and be updated with out having to go to the sites. http://www.ilearnradio.org/ Another interesting tidbit that I find to be very true is they tell the kids to 'go home and study' but they don't tell them HOW. Seems like a no brainer to many, but not so for lots of us. was just asking me how to memorize algebra formulas and darn if I know!! I would just re-write them over and over till I had them, but he needs some different ideas. Its so true that we would do much better as parents and teachers if only we knew HOW the brain WORKS and different ways to input info. Anyone know of some good books???? I followed a rabbit trail to this site- need to see if the library has any. http://www.labschool.org/books.html Carol in IL Mom to seven including , 6 with TOF, AVcanal, GERD, LS, Asthma, subglottal stenosis, and DS.My problem is not how I look. It's how you see me. Check out the all-new beta - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster.
