Guest guest
Thanks for the information !! Do most docs recommend that we get one? Cogan <ncogan@...> wrote: For those of you in the US...I was in Costco today (in Oregon) and they have started giving flu shots, for $18....so this is one place to get them early and without much hassle. I think my health insurance will even re-imburse me with a pay stub. They just have certain flu shot clinic dates and times. C.

Hi ....yes, the cml specialists like Dr. Druker and the MDACC docs all seem to recommend them (unless you have an allergy to eggs)... so that we don't further stress our bodies with flu on top of dealing with cml. Maybe R. will also pipe in if he has a different opinion. I always got a flu shot in the past, even before cml, because I was a health care worker and had a lot of exposure (in a university health care center). Take care, C. Guest guest
I have had my flu shot every year since heart surgery in 1991. Last year I talked to a Red Cross Nurse that attends church with me and explained my heart and CML diagnois and her immediate response was I will have your shot reserved at the flu clinic I am holding here at the church. The company I work for changed health insurance to United Health Care this year so I checked my insurance coverage and the only way they will cover the cost is for me to go to the doctors office and pay the co-pay. Seems a waste of money when the Flu Shot Clinics will do it for less than that, and I thought I was on an HMO type plan.
