Way off topic, but maybe others want to know, too. The Indigo Bunting male is blue all over in spring and summer. It sings each note twice in its little song -- that's how I knew what it was before I saw it. I'd missed the ones that stopped over in Central Park during spring migration, so was much pleased with this one. Sorry to resume itch talk, but I've been having it bad, the non-bite kind. I try not to scratch, but when I lightly rub some of the itchy areas, they feel odd (in the areas themselves, not my fingertips). The main areas where this happens are the tops of my forearms. I am also having the neuropathy feeling (or lack of feeling), but not so much itch, in the tops of my feet. My back itches madly but feels normal when touched.

I'm back from a short trip to the NYState Finger Lakes, lovely. An Indigo Bunting sang all day long in Watkins Glen. I've just finished reading through all the messages on the CLL(ACOR) and CLL/SLL lists.

Now I have many doctor appointments: IVIg tomorrow, annual visit to breast surgeon Tuesday, oncologist Thursday, lung specialist Aug. 4 (suggested by oncologist because I've also had a deep-sounding chronic cough for months), diabetes specialist Aug. 7, and dermatologist Aug. 11 (mostly to check for skin cancers; I've had 5). If I still have the neuropathy I'll be consulting at least these last 2 about it as well as mentioning it to the oncologist. The dermatologist always suggests fewer hot showers and less soap to prevent itch, but I should point out to her that the CLL may also be involved. The possible diabetes connection with the neuropathy is worrisome. I've believed that my glucose was under fairly good control, but had a talk recently with Alan of Australia (formerly on the ACOR list) about his much more rigorous methods so need to check the diabetes doc's opinion on this.

At the oncologist's, we'll find out how my hemoglobin is doing and decide whether to continue Rituxan maintenance.

Who can tell which of my various symptoms and conditions are related to which? Oddly, despite all, I'm feeling relatively good!

How did your appointments go?
