Toby:Thanks for that info. Did your Doctor indicate why he picked that treatment? It seems that at least in recent years treatment has been either RF or RFC intravenously. I was so surprised when my Doc suggested using cytoxan as a single agent that I didn't think fast enough to ask why she would choose that. There is the benefit of the pill being more convenient than the chemo lab and I assume the cost would be less. But I wonder if there is something else that I am missing. into kidney failure and had to start treating my SLL/CLL. We used 2 rounds of rituxan a month apart and low dose cytoxan (100 mg daily) for about 10 months. Because my kidneys were so inflamed due to cryoglobulemia I also had high dose prednisone thrown in at the beginning, and then tapered off over a 3 month period of time. All in all (except for the prednisone), it was a well tolerated treatment and put me in CR for four years. Now platelets are dropping (142) and I'm considering whether to treat again, low dose cytoxan and rituxan.
