Guest guest
, It is only fair of me to admit that I did not know the existence of these tests in progressive order or any order and I think there is also a few other now aren't there? If not, that is proof that I truly didn't know what these tests were. They were not available, at least to the general public of patients in 2002 when I took treatment, they may have been available, but is so it was only in specialized situations and then a person would have to know of their existence, which i did not. I ask if there are more tests...??? simply because I remember that there are supposedly tests that measure DNA and Chromosonal damage or changes....maybe it is these actual tests you are mentioning that do this. Perhaps you need to list.....or have someone who knows list what each of these tests you mention " Does in particular " to give us prognosis and of what? Sorry if I am way behind on this but I am and am glad you posted these tests etc. Kurt Prognostics The following is driven primarily by my own wish to have a no-brainer summary. Venkat's _www.clltopics.org_ (http://www.clltopics.org) has A LOT OF INFORMATION on these topics, anyone interested in details beyond this simplistic summary is urged to look there!!! The ZAP-70 test - - - The lower the ZAP-70 expression the better IgVH gene - - - if unmutated, prognosis is less good than if mutated FISH test, genetic aberrations - - - 17q deletion - not desirable p53 deletion - not desirable 13q deletion - does not have serious effect CD38 levels - - - low is good Please understand the above is not based on research on my part, just on what I think I read on 's pages
Guest guest
, I agree that (known) prognostics do not seem to hold the key to understanding & treating CLL. waynejb50192@... wrote: Hi Connie - you may not believe this, but I do not know!! That is my philosophy, as I do not believe that, except perhaps for deciding on when and how to do initial TX, prognostics have anything to do with the price of tea in China. Just a personal approach.....All I know is that I am unmutated..... In my personal (patient) opinion, you should decide on your TX based on symptoms and needs, and not make yourself crazy with the prognostic indicators. I'm truly sorry if I'm offending anyone......
