treatment for splenomegaly

For Dr. Furman. In order to avoid splenectomy at this time--can treatment to reduce the spleen size consist of any form of steroid regimen or irradiation, at least to give some relief to the rib cage pain / & breathlessness? Have you had any success with your patients with any of these regimens? 5 cycles of Flud.+Rit tx. did not reduce the spleen size much, but did mostly eliminate the swollen groin & neck nodes. My last CT scan on 1/1/08 showed a spleen that measured over 30cm from pole to pole. My Onc. says Campath is his choice for my next treatment regimen. Have you seen any spleen reduction benefits using Campath? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Hal Skye
