Guest guest
and Tracey, You are so correct. I too had to change form being treated as just another number to a doctor who really gets it. Heck, my doctor didn't even know of the side effects of Gleevec. I found that if you assist doctors and let them know that you're in control, they'll work with you. Then more we know the more they'll learn and want to get things right... So many of us are so vulnerable at the beginning and I think it takes some amount of courage to take control over your life and demand better. Unfortunately there are plenty of crazy stories out there about some doctors and how they're treating their patients. Like you said, these sites are important so that people can know when they're being gipped of a good service and make the effort to find better. I'd hazzard a guess that very few of us knew anything about blood cells or blood tests before we were diagnosed so how else could we know if we were being treated with competance. These sites are invaluable as far as I'm concerned. Take care, Tracey
