People take NEUPOGEN or NEULASTA often with chemo - I don't know that there is a limit to how often you can take it - But, to the best of my knowledge, they're basically the same (or almost the same) thing - So I would not say that you can get a NEULASTA shot and then proceed to get a NEUPOGEN shot.

As you know, your WBC will rebound a week or so after chemo.

The LEVAQUIN is being given to you as a prophylactic, to keep away bacterial infections. You might ask your doc about a prophylactic against viral infections (ACYCLOVIR).

And wear a mask and stay away from people.

Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.

Had last Neulasta shot after chemo on Jan

24. My white count is down to .06 today. Does anyone know

how often you can take these shots.

Doc put me on Levaquin today. Third time I have had to take this

antibiotic.

Can you give Neuprogen shots after a

Neulasta shot? How soon? Any info appreciated.

Barb,

People can take Neulasta after each round of chemotherapy. There are

two important things to remember with Neulasta (and Neupogen).

1. Neulasta should be taken 1-2 days after chemotherapy is completed.

2. Neulasta will only reduce the length of the nadir (low WBC) and also

lessen its depth (how low the WBC will go). It does not necessarily

prevent it all together.

Neulasta is a long acting version of Neupogen. Neupogen needs to be

taken daily, while Neulasta is taken once each cycle.
