Guest guest
Maxa, I agree with with perhaps a slightly different emphasis. Each time I began tx—4x since 2000—it was lymphadenopathy that precipitated it; CBC results were fine. My doctors agreed it was hard to assess just how close I was to being " in danger " with regard to vital organs—the body will " work around " problems for as long as it can—think of how things adjust and make room during pregnancy! But I was increasingly uncomfortable and fearful about what could happen and I knew things were only getting worse. On 11/8, Dr. Furman spoke of the " art " of knowing when to treat—when waiting may prove the greater problem. It's not always black & white—I listened to my " inner voice, " which was paying attention over time to my body, the difference in tone of my doctor's voice, the changing look on the nurse's face, etc.—Ellen D.
