Guest guest
Both Valtrex and Bactrim were begun prophylactively a few days before I started RF, and thereafter. What is the consensus as to when to discontinue them? Should I wait until my ALC is in the normal range? The RF was successful. Presently, I'm three months out from RF, my absolute lymphocytes are rising each month, most recently 400 and approaching the normal range of 850-3910. All other values on the CBC are normal.WBC 5.8. My onc had told me to take them daily, however, on one occassion in the middle of the series I was seen by his associate who recommended taking Bactrim 3 X/week instead of every day. So I have been taking both Valtrex and Bactrim 3 x/week for a few months. Should I still have CBC's monthly? My onc. suggested cutting down visits to once every two months. Guest guest
I discontinued Bactrim and Valtrex at the end of TX. But that was a long time ago, and the ground rules may have changed - It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here.
