Guest guest
Aloha, Everyone, thanks to everyone who replied to my questions about Kutapressin and also B-12. I think mentioned that he mixes Kutapressin with B-12. I'm sorry that I can't remember everyone's names tonight--I'm not having the best day. It would be great if there were some way of systmatically comparing all our histories, symptoms and treatments to date. That would be quite a project. I did some searching of my files today--they're a mess. But I did find most of my test results and reports from my visits to Dr. Cheney. As soon as I feel up to it, I'm going to study it all and try to relate it to the info/expriences I've been reading on the net. I saw one report that mentioned that I have high levels of alpha interferon. would that mean that I'm a poor candidate for treatment with oral interferon? I'll have to quote the sentence for you all next time and maybe some of you can help me figure it out. Did I mention that I got the name of a doctor over here from one of the CFIDS websites (I don't remembe which one)? It said that she was very knowledgeable and supportive of CFIDS patients. I called her office and was told that she only takes referrals from other doctors (she's a rheumatologist). I said, okay, I don't understand that, because I was initially diagnosed by a rheumatologist and was self-referred, but I'll get a referral. Then the receptionist said that she'd spoken to the doctor and the doctor said she didn't want to take any CFIDs/FMS patients! I asked if she couold refer me to someone else and they said to ask the Hawaii Medical Association. The HMA does not give out referrals--I tried that route before. After i hung up I felt depressed, hurt and angry for a time. I don't know who recommended this woman as a great doc, but I sure got the brush-off. I pay cash and have Medicare too, but they didn't even ask about my insurance. I guess my pride was hurt--I've never had a dr. refuse to see me because I have a certain kind of condition. Does this seem weird to anyone else?.. I am going away for a week, on Saturday, to try out a job I've been offered (nothing very lucrative or exciting). I really need the money, but I'm worried about my disability benefits, etc. I have to give it a try, though. Keep the list coming, and I'll try to wade through it when I get back. Wish me luck. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, if that's okay. Love and peace, Teeza

Also, it does not have the liver damage that allo treatments often incur. I would use and do use garlic a lot in my food, but I don't feel its strong enough in causing the 95% die-off that is necessary to cure systemic candidiasis. Feel free to email me if you need more info on monolaurin Hope this is of some help! Judith Preston jlpresto@... Guest guest
SJ, I drank occasionally, just socially, about 5 years ago and then I found out I had hepatitis c. Thank God I had a doctor that cared and told me to not drink any alcohol at all with this and that it is a deadly combination. I have stayed away from the alcohol since then, I have a husband and 4 children, ranging in age from 6 years old to 18. They are more important to me than an occasional drink or two. At the time I found out, I was feeling very tired and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I knew that something was going on in my body. Since then, no alcohol, a few supplements and I am doing great! My last viral load was 195,000 and I don't have the other figures right now, they are all great, though. All tests are normal, no elevations whatsoever and my hepatologist said I am not even a candidate for treatment!!!! I'm curious if anyone has ever heard that? My viral load dropped when I quit drinking all together and has stayed that way since. Do we have to have bad blood test results in order to receive treatment? I am not wanting to receive treatment for many reasons, but I try to encourage other friends whom are. I know why my blood tests are so good, it's because I have cut the alcohol out. No. You can have normal blood tests and still have damage occurring in your liver. In fact, it is fairly common to have normal liver function tests even when you have cirrhosis. Also, it is a characteristic of this virus for the ALT and AST to be only slightly elevated, and never get really high, although they do sometimes. They will also fluctuate frequently. However, if your LFT are consistantly normal that is USUALLY a fairly good indication that things are good. The viral load also has no real correlation with how much damage is occurring in the liver. It is how much damage there is in your liver that determines if you are a candidate for treatment or not. The only way to know that is to have a biopsy. Guest guest
I actually do still use it a bit. It's about 30 years old now. I really don't use a blender for much stuff and didn't like having to clean up the extra jar and the transferring of stuff. For about 20 years I have been using a hand held " stick " blender that you use right in the working bowl or pot. For about 20 years I had a " Bamix " stick blender, but a few years ago the switch went bad. Now I use a Braun stick blender. I make my smoothies in a wide mouth qt jar with it. The stick blenders are nice but won't get stuff as finely ground as a blender or Vitamix. And they don't do ice very well unless you pre break it into smaller chunks first. My sister got a newer Vitamix about a year ago and loves it. But she does more cooking and baking than I do. She made ice cream and ground flour with it. I have heard that if you go to the Vitamix web site, there is a way to get them at a discount. I heard this a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure if I remember it absolutely right. I believe you have to get a phone # and call the factory directly and ask for the refurbished items. The discount can be $50 - 100 +-, but you may have to wait a month or longer for one to be available. You don't have to call the factory directly, just order normally as the reconditioned models are one of the choices. But when I ordered a month or so ago their website ordering wasn't working so you do have to call the customer service number to order. It came faster than promised. www.vitamix.com. Guest guest
Just call and ask for a re-furbished one. I ordered them for several of my family that way. I use mine regularly, and the Omega juicer from Dr. Mercola which makes uncooked applesauce! Best Regards, Lorenzo " The reason computer chips are so small is computers don't eat much. Guest guest
I'm too new at this to be an expert, but had my second fill last Monday before Thanksgiving. I think we've about hit the sweet spot. I can eat even small pieces of turkey and anything else I've tried since going back on solids yesterday. But can't eat a whole lot. Nothing hurts; nothing gets stuck, but I fill up on what's considered a reasonable amount with the band. I know we all react differently, though. I'm personally thankful that this is not painful. It's the easiest, least painful way I've EVER lost weight. Maybe you should check with your doctor? Guest guest
C, Hello! I have another appointment with the ONC on the 27th. By then all the results and numbers should be in. I have never been PCR neg but I was hoping for a continued downward trend. The way he talked there was no improvement. I guess we'll see. He isn't really pushing for a BMT but he is pushing to line everything up for one just in case. I have a lot of confidance in this ONC and trust his judgement but that doesn't make the possibility of a bad future any less scary. I'll kepp you all posted!
