Guest guest
As I said to Dave, radiation is sometimes used to reduce the size of isolated and pesky nodes. A radiation consult is probably not out of place, but it seems logical that you would do radiation only if you were not going to do a general treatment, which would reduce all nodes. Remember that CLL is a systemic disease, and you probably have enlarged nodes elsewhere which will need to be treated. So radiation of a particular node would seem to me to be a double whammy, perhaps not necessary in the light of a general treatment. (Unless it's an emergency situation and you cannot wait for the general treatment to take effect.) - Get movies delivered to your mailbox. Guest guest
Deb - There is such a point, but then you lose it again, because the disease is forever changing and you never know what to expect. You have remissions, you have relapses, the thing changes form, does unpredictable things, so you do have to stay on your toes. But there are many ways to do that. Teleconferences, web sites, workshops, seminars and pretty soon you'll get on top of it. Don't be discouraged. Have you had a look at our website? It needs updating, but it's still a pretty good intro. www.cllinfogroup.org - Get movies delivered to your mailbox. It all gets muddled up in my head. someone suggested I start keeping a journal to keep everything straight, I am going to give that a try. Guest guest
Usually when my Dad is in need of treatment, the nodes on his neck get extremely enlarged. But recently, we noticed them getting big again, yet his counts were ok. Is there a threat to having the enlargeed nodes despite having good blood counts or does it simply mean that the counts are soon to be endangered. I'm still a bit confused on this.
