Guest guest
I just joined the group as my husband was diagnosed in May. I have been doing a lot of reading on this disease and I am so disturbed by the finding that my husband has >95% Zap-70. Do any of you have a similar finding or know anything about it that I should know? I find the E-mails very helpful and appreciate this opportunity to learn more and find out what you all have been going through with it.Thanks, Connie Hoppe
Guest guest
Connie, My husband also had a very high Zap, which did not make me happy. The question is, whether the lab where it is done is reliable. Where was your husband's done? It may be that you can't go by it, but it may also be that it is truly positive. UCSD is the one lab I have heard for sure does it right. Then, I guess put it in the mix with his other factors. How is his ALC? Rate of change? Symptoms? Also, I have read that once it is positive (say above 20%) it doesn't really matter how high. I think Dr. Hamblins blog has a discussion of this in his Mutations of Mortality.
