Guest guest
Kathleen: I had RF in 2005 finishing six rounds in July. Many on here including stopped after 4 rounds. My treatment went like yours. No real side affects and my counts were normal after just a couple of rounds. I asked my Onc about quitting after 4 since I seemed to be okay then. He stated that since I was having no problems with the chemo, it would be best to get the full 6 rounds as it may prolong the period before the next treatment. I have not had that next treatment yet and this July, it will be six years since that treatment ended. Whether the extra rounds extended the time, I don't know for sure, but I feel it did. We are all different so it may not be the same for you. But it seems that if a person is not really having trouble with the chemo, why not not go the full treatment even if it would only extend further need for treatmentĀ a few months or a year. JMHO.
