Guest guest
In spite of having a number of negative prognostic factors (ZAP-70 positive, diagnosed young, being male, 6d deletion, unmutated, etc.) I managed to stay in watch and worry for 8 years. All I did in those days was to take zinc to keep my copper level lower, to watch my diet, exercise, and to drink lots of green tea. I consider myself quite fortunate to avoid treatment for so long. I know 1/3 of patients never need treatment, but few of them have my negative factors. Add to that now an 11q deletion (which I probably had before HDMP+R revealed it), and the last four years hasn't been as smooth. But I did have a wonderful 8 years. Oh, and seeing a top CLL doc early on didn't hurt either. Robin wrote: I am still W & W, it's now been almost 7 years. The only reason I would want to treat now would be if someone could guarentee that I'd have a bit more energy (which to the best of my knowledge isn't possible)and I wouldn't mind not having the night sweats, but I can live with these. BTW, what are the options, if any, for treating my anemia?
