Guest guest
Dr. Furman will have an opinion on this I'm sure - In a message dated 11/26/2009 3:49:34 A.M. I think I am now in week 14 and week 23 is when we do another bmb. My CT scan looked very good. All my nodes have gone down 50% or more and my spleen is a normal size now. I know that the ABT targeted a certain protein found on the cll tumors but this protein is also found in our gi tract as well. Could it be the cause of my stomach problems? Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. Please let me know. Thank you. Lori
Guest guest
Re: Which to choose: R+ ABT263 or R + Bendamustine? I can answer this from my own personal experience. Last year I was offered and entered a Clinical Trial at UCSD of ABT-263 + Rituxan + Bendamustine. At the time, there was no R + ABT trial. One of the reasons I am glad I chose it, was that I had limited success with two treatments of R + HDMP. My nodes never completely disappeared and my WBC never stayed down after the treatment ended. I was fully aware of the potential issues with Bendamustine but we all agreed that I might need a more aggressive approach this time. I have a history of AIHA, am 11q, unmutated and Zap70 positive. I had 7 rounds of treatment and I am very pleased with the results. So, was it the ABT, the Bendamustine? The Rituxan certainly added to the punch, but who can say for sure? I had no major reactions during the treatment. I had some minor GI issues, but the reactions were not as bad as I had with R + HDMP. Four months after treatment all of my counts are in normal range, my lymph nodes have all disappeared, my spleen is gone and we are waiting on the results of my BMB. If anyone would like more information about this trial please feel free to email me or post a message. Terry (dx 2000) Rituxan 10/07 Fludura & Cytoxan 11/07 AIHA 11/07 - AIHA 04/08 - Prednisone Rituxan & HDMP for 3 monthly cycles (06/08 - 08/08) Rituxan & HDMP for 4 monthly cycles (08/09 - 11/09) ABT-263 + R + B in May 2010 (7 rounds) Waiting to determine if I got a CR
